A Proposal at the Galaxy’s Edge

It seems love finds itself even in the smallest of places, even in a galaxy far, far away.

In a touching video circulating the internet, long time Star Wars fan Lana decided to propose to her boyfriend in the Galaxy’s Edge attraction in DisneyWorld in front of the Millennium Falcon.

Lana, ever the careful planner, waited for a light-saber meet up—an informal event where Star Wars fans gather in front of the Millennium Falcon at night, cutting their way through the darkness with their lightsabers. As the night goes on, the crowd gets bigger and bigger, as does the energy.

At the beginning of one of these meet ups, Lana, dressed as Kylo Ren, made her way through the front of the crowd. In a touching and dramatic speech that would make any nerdy couple cry, Lana drew forth the ring and asked, “Will you join me, in my fight for life? And be mine?”

Glen nods his head, and the two embrace in a kiss so powerful, one could sense it through the force.

What really makes me tear up is the role reversal—the woman proposing to the man. And is anyone surprised? With strong role models like Natalie Portman’s Padme and Carrie Fisher’s Princess Leia, who wouldn’t feel inspired to shake up tradition?
