With everyone self-quarantined, numerous industries have opened up to the public through digital streaming to enjoy things from the comfort of their homes. Musicians are going live on social media, drag queens continue to perform, and the animals of zoos came out to play.
That’s right, zoo’s are setting up cameras so lovers of aquariums and zoos can watch all their favorite critters right from the couch, while also practicing safe, social-distancing.
One such zoo, the Dallas Zoo, has turned on their cameras to bring you behind-the-scenes footage and educational videos on their social media, using the hashtag #BringTheZooToYou. It’s as adorable as it possibly could get.
The Shedd Aquarium has also introduced their animals to the camera, sharing videos of adorable penguins waddling around, where they are also sharing behind-the-scenes and educational videos of their animals, along with the Cincinnati Zoo and the New York Botanical Garden.
Of course, without all the crowds some of the animals have been set free around the zoo, free to stretch their flippers like these little guys.
The visual is certainly an oddity, penguins roaming around, but it also gives researchers a look into penguin behavior when they’re just free-roaming around. They also make for an adorable way to pass the time.
