Winnie the Pooh Goes Mad in New Horror Film Set to Release end of 2022

By David T. Valentin

On the day where Winnie the Pooh entered into public domain, writer and director Rhys Frake-Waterson released a still image of a horror spin on Winnie the Pooh, where Pooh and Piglet finally snap.

According to Frake-Waterson, “Eventually they had to eat Eeyore to survive. Christopher returns and discovered his old feral friends are no longer what they seem. Upon seeing Christopher, Pooh and Piglet go on a rampage and eventually target a rural cabin, where a group of girls from university are staying.

The stills released show a distorted (rubber?) Winnie the Pooh costume dressed in flannel under a pair of overalls. In one still, we get a glimpse at Piglet, who seems to have shed his cute, pigsie features to adapt the look of something more like an angry boar. The two are seen hoisting up an unconscious woman, seemingly the same one Piglet likes to maul for fun.

Disney has yet to release any statement acknowledging the horror film, but we wouldn’t be surprise if the whole thing might get shut down. Though, there is enough difference to claim that this iteration of Winnie the Pooh is entirely different from Disney’s.
