On top of saving the world for democracy, and making a documentary about it, All In: The Fight for Democracy, super woman Stacey Abrams managed to finish a thriller, While Justice Sleeps, which will be published by Penguin Random House in May. Unlike her eight previous novels, this one will not be published under the Selena Montgomery pen name.
In an interview in Variety, Abrams shared the basic plot of While Justice Sleeps. “It is the story of a young lawyer who unexpectedly finds herself to be guardian to Supreme Court Justice, who has fallen into a coma,” Abrams explained. “She has to navigate the high drama challenge and do so with the authority of being a guardian, but with no real power in the midst of the maelstrom that is Washington D.C.”
Her earlier fiction was romance, but this is her debut thriller with praise from such notable suspense authors as Scott Turow, Lee Child, Karin Slaughter and Brad Meltzer.
The hardcover is currently available for pre-order and will be on sale May 11th.
