Jessi Lawless announced via video that she was filing for an annulment from former adult star Jenna Jameson less than one year after their Vegas wedding, citing Jameson’s drinking as the culprit. In the video, captioned "It's done" she said, "There are a lot of rumors going around that Jenna and I are getting a divorce. And I'm making this video to confirm that."
Lawless, a social media personality, explained further, "I told her at the beginning of our relationship that I was drawing a hard line and that drinking had led to so many problems in her life that I would not tolerate it at all under any circumstances.”
She added, "I love you with all of my heart. And I really hope the best for you,” but explained that she had caught Jameson in a lie about her drinking, which she could not accept.
When reached by People Magazine about the news, Jameson responded, “Expressing your unconditional love and support may be one of the kindest things you can do. Let them know that you are there for them—relapse or not, 10 days sober or 200."
She continued, “Unfortunately in the past, due to cultural attitudes surrounding addiction, tactics such as shaming, humiliating, shouting and 'attack therapy' were commonplace. Currently, rehab centers recognize that this approach would constitute malpractice and would have no place in the delicate process of treatment. It is much more likely that clients will experience greater success when empathy is placed at the forefront of the client care process."
This was the third marriage for Jameson, who has three children with her former partners.
