The 36th Annual Lambda Literary Awards Needs Your Help

By David T. Valentin

If you’re in NYC looking to get involved in any way for Pride month this year, the 36th Lambda Literary Awards Ceremony could be an excellent way to give back to the LGBTQ+ community.

For those who are not familiar with Lambda Literary, they are one of the leading organizations in uplifting LGBTQ+ writers and books throughout the United States. Along with getting LGBTQ+ books placed in bookstores and libraries across the nation, Lambda Literary also hosts an annual writing retreat as well as special school programs which discuss LGBTQ+ literature in the classrooms from grade K through 12.

This year’s Lambda Literary Award (or Lammy’s) will be held at Sony Hall in New York City, which is beautifully attached to the Paramount Hotel. For those interested in volunteering, the sign up is at the attached link here.

There are several different tasks you can volunteer for. You can choose the tasks you volunteer for what you enjoy and for how long during the night.

Most importantly, you’ll be able to attend the award ‘s ceremony which is also celebrated with a beautifully queer enthusiasm that uplifts and celebrates LGBTQ+ voices.
