Trend watchers predicted that lockdown would bring forth a crop of divorces so no one was really surprised when Mary Kate Olsen burst out of her New York City isolation with a divorce from her French husband Oliver Sarkozy. But I don’t think anyone expected America’s sweetheart Kelly Clarkson to file for divorce from Brandon Blackstock, with whom she has two children, and for whom she has written quite moving love sings. But we all know social isolation, and way too many days inside with the kids, can make you see your partner in a whole different way.
In addition to Kelly and Mary Kate, Megan Fox left Brian Austin Green after a decade of marriage and three kids. According to an article in People, Green said the split happened after Fox returned from filming a project late last year. “She said, ‘I realized when I was out of the country working alone that I feel more like myself and I liked myself better during that experience and I think that might be something worth trying for me,’” he said. “I was shocked and I was upset about it, but I can’t be upset at her because she didn’t ask to feel that way. It wasn’t a choice she made, that’s the way she honestly felt. We talked about it a little more and said, ‘Let’s separate for a bit’…and so we did.” He went on to say the couple is still friends and that “We’ve had an amazing relationship and I will always love her and I know she’ll always love me.”
Former Bachelor Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph broke up. He was the virgin bachelor who jumped a fence to get off the show and broke Bachelor tradition by not proposing at the end of his season, but instead saying he would see where things went. We gather this is where that is.
