Rob Walkowiak, 52, and Nikki Bailey, 51, choose their wedding date a year ago partially based on their love of numerology – 02/02/2020 is a palindrome, a number that is the same both back and forth. They also happen to be huge Kansas City Chiefs football fans, but never imagined that a year later, on that day, they would be having the ultimate Super Bowl party in the form of their own Chiefs-themed wedding on the day the Chiefs would win their first Super Bowl in 50 years!
This is the second marriage for both, so they were a little more relaxed about wedding traditions. The couple wore Kansas City Chiefs jerseys and the reception featured couches and chairs with Chiefs pillows, footballs as centerpieces, M&Ms and Jell-O shots in team colors of red and gold, and a goalpost that Bailey had made herself out of pool noodles. No surprise, really, because Bailey is an event planner and went all-out. As she so eloquently told the L.A. Times, “It’s going to look like the Chiefs vomited all over the room.”
