Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop Launches Vibrator: Sells Out Faster Than Vagina Candle

By Lori Perkins

Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle and wellness brand, Goop, has been trying to make a stand for female sexuality since it started in 2008 as a newsletter that later became a brand and even a Netflix show. She has received a lot of flak for her choices of the insertable vaginal egg and the “This Smells Like My Vagina” candle, but it looks like she has finally found her market and audience with the new Goop vibrator. Released on Valentine’s Day, this $95 double-sided female sex toy sold out in days.

According to the Goop website, the vibrator has a pink "wonder-ball wand with deep, rumbly vibrations" much like the legendary magic wand sex toy on one end for external stimulation, and a "powerful and precise vibration" for internal clitoral stimulation on the other end with multiple pulsating patterns. The vibrator is waterproof and has a rechargeable battery.

And it’s kind of pretty. Paltrow told The New York Times that she wanted to design something that you could leave out on your bedside table without it looking too phallic or overtly sexual.

At the under $100 price point, it’s also surprisingly affordable for a Goop product, which may be another reason why it sold out so quickly. Her candles (yes, there is a second one labeled “This Smells Like My Orgasm”) go for $75. The Goop vibrator is definitely a better bang for that buck!
