Stonewall Inn Hosts Celebration of TCS NY Marathon as LGBTQ+ Safe Space

A ceremony was held at the landmark Stonewall Inn on November 4th to specially recognize NY Road Runner’s inclusion efforts among the LGBTQ+ community. The TCS New York City Marathon was named a Safe Space by the historic Stonewall Inn, making it the first sporting event to be declared so.

NYRR executives and professional athletes from the LGBTQ+ community were present, as well as Riverdale Avenue Books’ editor Maitland McDonagh representing RAB’s 120 Days imprint and accompanying Pictured are McDonagh and with two of the four Inn co-owners: bartender Kurt Kelly and foundation CEO Stacy Lentz. Also, Ricky Shroeder from Off-Broadway’s Kinky Boots.

The TCS New York City marathon is held on Sunday, November 5th where 5,000 runners will compete to in a 26.2 mille run to cross the finish line.
