Paris Hilton Engaged with Million Dollar Ring

By Lori Perkins

For 40 year-old Paris Hilton’s birthday, she got engaged.

The Hilton Hotel heiress, entrepreneur, former TV star and sex tape provocateur, got engaged on February 13th to her boyfriend of one year, Carter Reum, an author, entrepreneur and venture capitalist who founded M13 Ventures, an angel investment firm, as they celebrated her February 17th 40th birthday on a private island with family.

Reum, also 40, proposed to Hilton on a secluded beach with a personally-designed custom three-stone ring featuring a 22 carat emerald-cut center stone and two three carat diamonds in a platinum setting. The inspiration behind the design of the ring stemmed from the city of love: Paris.

Hilton's ring was created by Jean Dousset, Louis-François Cartier's great-great-grandson who used the The Eiffel Tower and the Grand Palais, an exhibition hall and museum located on the Champs-Élysées, as inspiration when brainstorming the ring's design. Jewelry experts estimate the ring is worth between $1,000,000 and $2,500,000

"This past year with COVID has accelerated so many things. As someone who traveled constantly, I had a chance to stay home and reevaluate what was important to me. My relationship and the time I spent with Carter was a gift," Hilton says. "I'm excited for our next chapter."

Adds Reum, 40: "I have gotten the unique opportunity to get to know the real Paris on a daily basis just the two of us during these past 15 months and I couldn't be more excited and lucky to have her as my future wife and partner. She shines with her kindness, work ethic, authenticity and her voice in making the world a better place and she will do the same as a future mother and wife."
