For the past ten years in a row, Global Citizen is giving a free concert in New York’s Great Lawn in Central Park, this year featuring such beloved performers as legendary metal band Metallica and icon Mariah Carey, as well as the Jonas Brothers (so you know Priyanka Chopra will be there too). Additional performers include Billy Porter, Rosalie, MÅNESKIN, Angelique Kinjo and Mickey Guyton in New York, and SZA, Stormy, H.E.R. and Tems from a concert in the Ghanaian capital of Accra.
You can watch the event starting at 4:00 p.m. EST, when the shows will air online and on TV across a variety of channels. Watch a live stream broadcasting from both events on ABC and ABC News (via TV, Hula, and YouTube), FX, and iHeartRadio (both on the radio and in the app). The event will be streamed on Amazon Music, Apple Music, Apple TV, Global Citizen, Twitch, Twitter, Veeps, and YouTube.
This will be a10-hour show that will celebrate the 10th anniversary of Global Citizen.
Global Citizen hopes that the concert will urge world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly ahead of the G20 and COP27 to “invest $600 million into the future of women and girls, close the annual $10 billion climate financing shortfall, deliver $500 million to help African farmers respond to the global food crisis, and provide urgent relief from crushing debts to end extreme poverty now.”
