Drag Queen Shea Couleé Signs on for Marvel’s Ironheart

By David T. Valentin

Just yesterday, the Rupaul’s Drag Race star, Shea Couleé posted on their Instagram announcing they are proudly joining the cast of Marvel’s Ironheart.

In the caption, Shea says, “I’m trying to find the words to express the deep excitement I feel over this projet. Acting was my first love long before Drag. So it only seems fitting to end my Drag Race journey and begin my acting career in the biggest way I could imagine.”

And indeed, they have stepped into some pretty big shoes. Ironheart, or 15-year-old Riri Williams, is an engineering student and certified super-genius who attends the Massachusetts institute of Technology. After the events of Civil War II and the death of Tony Stark, Riri becomes the successor to the Iron mantle, so to speak. Ironheart is set to make her first appearance in Wakanda Forever, set to release for November 11th of this year.

It's not yet known who Shea will play on the Ironheart Disney+ series, but I’m sure whatever role it is, they’ll blow it out of the waters.
