Disney Adult Couple Opts Out of Catering for a Guest Appearance of Minnie and Micky Mouse

By David T. Valentin

Let’s be honest, the most memorable moments in a wedding are the food and the bar service. Sure, the bride looks beautiful, the groom looks handsome and the venue is stunningly picture-perfect. But when your guests leave for the night after hours of yapping and dancing and having fun, the thing they’ll talk about most is the food. So, when a bride posted about not having catering at her wedding, the internet was abuzz.

Yesterday, a redditor posted in the subreddit “Am I the Asshole?” asking whether or not she and her husband were assholes for not having any catering or bar service at their wedding. Why? Because the couple decided to allocate the money they would use for food services for a guest appearance of Micky and Minnie Mouse.

The redditor writes in her post, “so we scheduled an appearance during our first dance and our wedding photos, forgoing served food (though there were PLENTY of facilities at the venue where people could eat...).” And then later in the post she says, “EDIT (Info): To those asking if the guests were “warned,” we CLEARLY outlined in the invitations that there was food available at the venue. We didn’t exactly spell out every restaurant’s MENU, but it was certainly mentioned. There were also vending machines available throughout.”

Mind you, she makes no mention that the guests need to pay for the additional facilities around the wedding, and even worse it’s technically a destination wedding, given that the guest need to travel to Florida.

Listing every menu available would have been the least she could have done. Maybe tell your guest so they can get McDonald’s or Popeye’s beforehand, kind of like a birthday party you go to when you’re a kid but they’re not serving food, just cake. And maybe leaving the fact out that there were vending machines her guests could’ve bought from.
