Peloton Raises the Dead to Battle Bad Publicity

By Lori Perkins

The day after the new episodes of And Just Like That, the sequel to Sex and the City, aired, stock for Peloton, the upscale exercise bike company, dropped by 5% because Carrie Bradshaw’s husband Big was shown to have died from a heart attack after working out on the branded equipment.

What’s a corporation to do?

Hire the actor who played Big, Chris Noth, to appear in a counter ad, alive and glowing, with the Peloton instructor featured in the TV episode, implying that he faked his death and left Carrie Bradshaw for the hot Barcelona babe.

The ad aired within 48 hours, and we can assume Chris Noth got two paydays out of this, which we can only admire.

Personally, I would have preferred that Noth come back as a vampire, but, who knows, maybe they’ll run that one around Halloween.
