So much has been taken away from us this year – holidays with family, concerts, birthday gatherings, attending sporting events – it’s almost hard to have something besides a new show on Netflix or Hulu to look forward to. But they cant’ take the Beaujolais Nouveau away from us.
November 19th is the third Thursday of this month and the date on which this often delicious imported French new wine is allowed to be sold in the United States. If the 2020 batch is anything like the previous three years, it should be awesome. This is the newly harvested wine from this year, and is fruitier than the more fermented varieties.
In the past two years, it has sold out in my New York City neighborhood by Christmas, so this year I called the local liquor store and reserved a number of bottles. After I taste it (to be sure it’s as good as I hope it will be), I give them out as Thanksgiving sand Christmas presents. I truly love a good Beaujolais!
