Days after taking office, the newly elected board of directors of the Romance Writers of America issued an apology to Courtney Milan, an author and former board member, who was inappropriately censored in December 2019.  The organization also issued an apology to its membership for the month-long escalating unprofessional behavior that resulted in the entire board of directors and staff quitting in a very public and messy upheaval.

The new board sent out an email notice of apology to all of its members, as well as posted the entire message o...

From the snowy romances of Winter to the sweaty and sexy romances of Summer, Romance Daily News covers it all. So when I was tasked with writing up a romance themed article for April 1st, one question came to my mind: can an April Fool’s romance actually exist?

I mean, let’s be real: how many times have we stumbled upon horrible prank break ups that go horribly wrong? Or break up pranks that actually lead to a break up? Honestly. So I did a little digging for some interesting April Fool’s romance stories, and I was not disappointed.

Through m...

Like a scene out of a contemporary retelling of West Side Story, two Washington Heights lesbians had a curbside wedding ceremony as the officiator performed the vows from a fourth floor window and a handful of fellow New Yorkers watched from a distance.

It was all, thankfully, captured on camera, and later on posted in social media.

The backstory to this amazing wedding spectacle is a little heart-breaking. According to New York Magazine, Reilley Jennings and Amanda Wheeler were worried that the coronavirus pandemic would dash their fall wedd...

In the midst of the Coronavirus outbreak in the United States, the Romance Writers of America (RWA) held online elections for a completely new board of directors, including a new president, after the chaotic winter avalanche of bad decisions that resulted in almost all its board members either resigning voluntarily or by force over issues of racism and poor management. The results were announced on March 24th.

Best-selling author Alyssa Day, a former trial lawyer and the author of 45 novels, was elected president unopposed. Addressing her ne...

In the midst of the chaos that is the coronavirus pandemic, families have been forced to say goodbye to loved ones for some time in fear of infecting those who may be vulnerable. That includes family members who may have a medical worker in the family, people who are immunocompromised, and the elderly.

But for one man, Bob from Vernon, Connecticut, coronavirus didn’t stop him from celebrating his 67th wedding anniversary outside his wife’s nursing home in Stafford Springs on Saturday. He brought a sign outside her window that said, “I’ve lo...

The Ripped Bodice, the country’s first all-romance bookstore (located in Los Angeles) has published its fourth annual diversity in romance report, and the news is still pretty dismal.

Sisters Bea and Leah Koch surveyed 18 publishers of romance and only one had improved the number of books written by Authors of Color this past year. The report focuses on the race of the authors being published by both the Big Five publishing companies and independent romance publishers, but does not cover indie authors. According to this most recent survey,...

This column was published first in the Roswell Daily Record (www.rdrnews.com), Feb. 23, 2020

I’ve never been to Roswell in terms of geography but in terms of what Roswell represents to me — an all-American city with a generous side helping of mystery tinged with science-fiction and infinite possibilities — I feel right at home.

First and foremost, I’m a science-fiction author, with an emphasis on the romance elements, but lots of action and adventure, as well. I often say my novels are like the movie “Aliens” — my personal favorite movie ever...

It seems love finds itself even in the smallest of places, even in a galaxy far, far away.

In a touching video circulating the internet, long time Star Wars fan Lana decided to propose to her boyfriend in the Galaxy’s Edge attraction in DisneyWorld in front of the Millennium Falcon.

Lana, ever the careful planner, waited for a light-saber meet up—an informal event where Star Wars fans gather in front of the Millennium Falcon at night, cutting their way through the darkness with their lightsabers. As the night goes on, the crowd gets bigger...

She’s one of us!

And she love horses.

Actually Wikipedia describes her as a professional equestrian, so it’s no surprise that she writes young adult horse-loving romances

Thirty-seven year-old Georgina Bloomberg is Mike Bloomberg’s youngest daughter and the owner of the equestrian team New York Empire, as well as a professional equestrian, and the co-author of four young adult novels about the girls of a horse racing team.

In a 2011 article in the New York Times, the paper makes no secret from where the author’s family inspiration in the novel...

Amanda Knox, who spent four years in an Italian prison after being charged with the murder of her college roommate, married Christopher Robinson on leap year day in a space-themed wedding at the Elks Lodge in Burien, Washington.

About 100 guests attended the renaissance and space-themed wedding and were encouraged to wear either medieval attire or Star Wars garb. E News reported that the bride wore a combination of both themes, with her hair in Princess Leia buns and a yellow satin medieval gown.

When journalist Gabrielle Calise stumbled upon an old, grainy, black and white photo featuring a couple, John and Sarah, standing in front of a billboard that read, “John Loves Sarah and will prove it on Feb. 29, 1992, ”it immediately peaked Calise’s curiosity. She wondered why anyone would choose February 29th? Especially when it came only once every four years. Thus her search began. And after her trail ran cold on John and Sarah, she ended up with something far more intriguing than she ever expected.

She discovered a whole group of peopl...
