In a surprise move, Crown Media, which owns the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Cards, announced that veteran media maven Wonya Lucas will be the new CEO and President of its Hallmark Networks division.

To pick us up from our Coronavirus doldrums, the Hallmark Channel announced that they would be featuring 40 new Christmas movies this season.  Although they have repeatedly expressed a desire to be more diverse (there were two movies featuring nonwhite characters and two “Hanukah” movies last year), fans and foes of the channel have expressed dismay that there doesn’t yet appear to be a movie featuring an LGBTQ couple in the mix.

Trying really hard to find the silver lining in every day, and was kind of thrilled to see that the Hallmark Channel will air some of their most popular Christmas movies in a marathon this weekend, from Friday March 20th through Sunday, March 22nd.
