On Saturday July 11th, Walt Disney World reopened their Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom Parks to visitors since its closure in mid-March due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. On Thursday, June 25th, Disney announced that the ever-popular ride Splash Mountain would be re-imagined due to its ties to the banned, infamous 1946 Disney movie Song of the South. The log flume ride will not be shut down completely, but instead redesigned to align with the 2009 movie The Princess and the Frog, which stepped away from the traditional White princess, featuring instead the first black princess, Tiana.
